2017 Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir is a very thin-skinned, sensitive grape, and due to this it unfortunately does not grow well in our humid climate. For this wine we bring in the grapes from the same vineyard as the Miller's favorite Kistler Pinot Noir, Dutton Ranch.
These beautiful grapes are harvested in the cold early morning hours before the sun has even thought about touching the horizon. They are then packaged with dry ice and packed carefully onto a refrigerated truck at 34F, where they will spend the next 50-60 hours heading East to our Winery here in Georgia.
When they arrive, they arrive in pristine condition as if they were harvested only hours before. Our 2017 Pinot Noir is an intense Pinot Noir that showcases the flavors and aromas of bright cherry, red berry and sweet toasted oak. This beautifully balanced wine has a satisfying richness and a long, pleasant finish. Aged for an additional 6 months in oak compared to previous vintages, leads way to a more mature complexity.

Good to Know
- The Pinot Noir varietal is over 1,000 years older than Cabernet Sauvignon. The name is derived from the French words for pine and black. T
- The word pine alludes to the grape variety having tightly clustered, pine cone-shaped bunches of fruit. When young, wines made from Pinot Noir tend to have red fruit aromas of cherries, raspberries and strawberries.
- As the wine ages, Pinot Noir has the potential to develop more vegetal and "barnyard" aromas that can contribute to the complexity of the wine. The US is the second largest grower of Pinot Noir after France.
