Tasting Notes

2015 Dutton Chardonnay

The 2015 Dutton Ranch Chardonnay has expressive scents of fresh picked meyer lemon, zest of tangerine, and pink grapefruit with touches of toasted almonds and honey.

There's a wonderfully rich, seductive, and opulent quality to this wine. We recommend paring this Chardonnay with butter poached lobster, pan seared scallops or a flaky white fish such as cod or halibut.

Overall, this is a profoundly textural wine that captures the charm and complexity of some of Sonoma County's most sought after Chardonnay vines: Dutton Ranch.

This Chardonnay was aged in new 100% new French oak barrels for 12 months.

Good to Know

The Dutton family has been working the land in Sonoma County since the 1880s. Today, the family sustainably and organically farms 1,300 acres (1,100 in vineyards, 200 in apple orchards) in the Russian River Valley and Green Valley AVA’s (American Viticultural Area) , Sonoma County.
Bob’s favorite Chardonnay, Kistler, is often sourced from this exact vineyard and consistently gains 92-95 point reviews from well-respected judges, such as Robert Parker. Kistler Chardonnay Dutton Ranch sells for an average of $125/bottle each vintage. Our goal is to create a wine that matches that same flavor profile and quality, and we think we’ve done it!
