Our west coast styled 2018 Sauvignon Blanc was fermented in stainless steel, french oak as well as concrete vessels of which helps amplify the mineralistic undertones of this wine.
This "classic" West Coast style came from the Jonquil Vineyard in famed Napa Valley. It firm acidity showcases citrus fruit, lemongrass and papaya notes along with a big mouthfeel offered to us from the oak and concrete ageing regime.
The loamy, non-serpentine soils at this Pope Valley site in the Napa Valley's northeast corner promote big, full-bodied,luscious wines. The wine's fermentation in concrete also allows for a level of natural micro-oxidation that enhances the overall mouthfeel. Layered. And approachable.

Good to Know
- Centuries ago, in some sunny, romantic vineyard in France, Sauvignon Blanc vines met up with Cabernet Franc. The two crossed and it was…well…magic: they created Cabernet Sauvignon.
- Fumé Blanc is a phrase and style of wine born in California in the 1960s and popularized by Robert Mondavi. Fumé Blanc is Sauvignon Blanc aged in oak, giving it smoky notes (fumé means smoke).
- Sauvignon Blanc is the world's 8th most planted wine grape. Why does this type of wine smell so much like passion fruit or mango?
- During fermentation, thiols are created. These natural, volatile sulphur-compounds are responsible for all the fruity aromas.
