2017 Estate Sauvignon Blanc
Our Estate Sauvignon Blanc was fermented in concrete vessels, which helps amplify the mineralistic undertones of this wine. The 2017 vintage was a little tougher in Georgia with hurricane Irma interrupting our plans to let the fruit hang on the vine. However, it worked in the Sauvignon Blanc's favour as it retained the natural acidity within this wine.
The wine's fermentation in concrete also allowed for a level of natural micro-oxidation that enhances the overall mouthfeel and balance.
With aromas of grapefruit and papaya, and flavors of lime, passionfruit, green apple and white peach, our 2017 estate Sauvignon Blanc lends for a perfect hot summer sipper.

Good to Know
Centuries ago, in some sunny, romantic vineyard in France, Sauvignon Blanc vines met up with Cabernet Franc. The two crossed and it was...well...magic: they created Cabernet Sauvignon.
Fumé Blanc is a phrase and style of wine born in California in the 1960s and popularized by Robert Mondavi. Fumé Blanc is Sauvignon Blanc aged in oak, giving it smoky notes (fumé means smoke). Sauvignon Blanc is the world's 8th most planted wine grape.
Why does this type of wine smell so much like passion fruit or mango? During fermentation, thiols are created. These natural, volatile sulphur-compounds are responsible for all the fruity aromas.
