Tasting Notes

2016 Cabernet Franc

Our Guests have requested the next vintage of Cabernet Franc for quite some time. So we are thrilled to deliver on this much anticipated crowd favourite.

With patience, we aged our Cabernet Franc in French and Hungarian oak for 2.5 years, and matured in bottle for over a year prior to releasing.

This lengthy aging process aids in precipitating the tannins earlier, creating a smooth wine that is ready to drink.

Good To Know

  • Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc are actually the "parents" of Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Wherever Cabernet Franc makes a solo appearance, the grape makes leaner, fresher styles of Cabernet, designed for earlier consumption.
  • Flavor characteristics of the Cab Franc grape range from sweeter notes like plum, blackberry, violets, raspberry and blueberry to the more savory: sage, bay leaf, rosemary, tobacco, bell pepper and eucalyptus.
